The end of a very good year

We can't quite believe that the end of the year is only a day away!  The past few weeks have just been SO busy.

In the run up to Christmas, Santa put in lots of orders for Love from Rosie goodies.  So, as you can imagine, we  have been very busy packing them up to ensure they made it into the stockings on Christmas eve.

There have also been lots of Christmas preparations, festive parties and special gatherings with family and friends.

and of course, one VERY special wedding

(more on that to follow soon!)

We hope you have all had a fabulous Christmas and we thank you for your continued support.

We have lots of ideas for next year and are really looking forward to some exciting times in the year ahead. However you chose to celebrate this New Year's Eve, we hope you have a good one.

Christmas is coming!

Once again the past few weeks have flown by and we can't believe it is almost December.

The weather might be getting chilly but we love wrapping up warm and enjoying the festive is our favourite time of year!

We love seeing the Christmas lights go up...
the smell of delicious roast chestnuts...
and wandering around a traditional Christmas fayre (or two, or three!)...
This month we have also launched a range of fabulous traditional Christmas decorations and Chritsmas gifts on our website.

In particular, this adorable Tweed Fabric Moose Head has been extremely popular.
Tweed Fabric Moose Head
I think we may just HAVE to have one of these each for our own homes.

This year December will be extra special for us as a very special couple are getting married.  Next month, Debra and her partner Mark will be saying 'I do'...and as you can imagine, the Love from Rosie team are super excited!!! (don't worry we'll take lots of pictures to share with you).

So get your advent calendar ready and let the countdown begin!

What a busy Autumn!

It seems as though the past several weeks have passed in a bit of a daze.

We have been busy working on our new product ranges
such as these fantastic retro style traditional toys...
a beautiful range of cushions handmade by Katy Lou...

and much, much more (all to be revealed soon).

With all this going on, autumn seems to have crept up on us and taken us somewhat by surprise!

Time to wrap up warm and enjoy the changing seasons.

Our little vintage hut

Last month we were busy, busy, busy preparing for the opening of our new pop up shop at Bridgend Designer Outlet in South Wales.

We had this wooden garden shed as a blank canvas and quickly set about turning it into a little haven of vintage loveliness.
Our first task was to source furniture to display our products.  We decided that we wanted the hut to be decked out in true vintage style.  So, instead of opting for new modern shelving, we turned our hands to upcycling.

We got these old shelves from a house clearance

and with a bit of primer, paint and TLC
 They looked amazing.

Styling the hut was great fun.  The products looked beautiful on our upcycled furniture.

...and so we went from garden shed to vintage heaven!

The week flew by and before we knew it we were packing up again.

We really loved our cosy little hut and meeting all the lovely people that came in to see us. We can't wait to do it all over again at Christmas time.

Don't forget in the meantime you can still see all our lovely goodies at our website

Until next time...

Summer at the Seaside

Even if the weather isn't as hot as we'd like, there is something about August that just makes us want to head off to the seaside.

Maybe it's the childhood memories of family picnics on the beach, playing in the rock pools and the smell of fresh sea air.
Living in South Wales we are very fortunate to be just a short drive from the beautiful Welsh coastline.

In fact, we can often be found eating a delicious Sidoli's icecream whilst watching the waves at Porthcawl sea front.

talking our little ones to walk along the beach
and play in the rock pools at Ogmore-by-Sea

Maybe one day we will have our very own coastal cottage.
But for now we can dream...

If you love the seaside as much as we do and like the thought of creating a nautical theme in your home, take a look at the nautical accessories on our website.

Whatever your doing this summer, we hope your having fun.

A Tiny Victorian Cottage

We just stumbled upon this tiny Victorian cottage created by Sandra Foster in the US and just had to share it with you.
Sandra turned the hunting cabin into the romantic Victorian cottage she had always wanted, using vintage columns, flooring and wavy glass windows, and doing the carpentry herself.

Many of the furnishings were flea market finds.
The shabby-chic retreat doesn't have a bathroom or a kitchen, but it is a dream of Victoriana: stacks of Limoges china with tiny rosebud patterns,  chandeliers dripping with crystal and billows of tissue-paper garlands.
It is so pretty.

Just what we needed to brighten up our Monday evening.

Well the week has flown by and before we knew it our week at Bridgend Designer Outlet was over. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the mall and met some genuinely lovely people.

Thank you to all the customers that visited us, we really hope you enjoy your items as much as we enjoyed picking them for you.

We would also like to say a special thank you to John, Lana and their team at Bling n Things for their support, encouragement and great advice.

What fantastic neighbours!

Thank you also to Emma at Millies cookies for loving our products and providing the much needed supply of tea and cookies Mmmm.

We even inspired her to try out a new cookie design...

We love it!

We hope to see you all again soon.

Our Pretty Pop Up Shop

This week we have taken our Love from Rosie vintage style goodies on the road and have opened a pop-up shop in the shopping mall at Bridgend Designer Outlet.

Lots of people are stopping to take a look and it is great to get the chance to chat to some of our lovely customers.

With the children being off school for the summer holidays our traditional toys (particularly the pretty Powell Craft rag dolls) are proving to be very popular!

We have also had lots of new stock arriving at Love from Rosie HQ (and our little darlings have been 'helping' with the unpacking...but that's another story!).  We will be updating the website very soon so watch this space.

Hope your enjoying the summer sunshine while it lasts!

July seems set to be a busy month for us...exciting times ahead!

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

This weekend, as The Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee
Britons up and down the country hung out the bunting and united in celebration.

Thousands of street parties took place, filling the nation with a sense of patriotism, nostalgia and community spirit.
They were very much reminiscent of the street parties held for The Queen's coronation in 1953
The Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977
and The Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002.
To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, we joined in the celebrations at a street party in our local village
with the historic Coity castle as our backdrop.
It was a fun filled day of cucumber sandwiches, cream scones and tug-of-war in the castle grounds...and we even came home with a delicious Diamond Jubilee cake from the raffle!
The day was finished off watching the Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace on TV with a good old cup of tea (and a delicious piece of cake!).

Hope you enjoyed your Diamond Jubilee weekend.

Bristol Vintage Fair

A few weeks ago we had a fabulous day out at The Bristol Vintage FairThe fair was held at Circomedia (in the beautiful St Paul’s Church in Portland Square) and it really was a fantastic venue.

There was a great range of stalls selling men's and women's vintage clothes, with styles from the 1940's up to the 1980's.

We spent an hour or so browsing through the clothes rails whilst listening to songs by The Everly was vintage heaven!

To finish off the day in style we decided to pamper ourselves with a vintage makeover from the girls at pop up parlour
and after lots of rollers...

...false eyelashes and red lip stick...

...we were really happy with our new look...

Can't wait for next time!
