Diamond Jubilee Celebrations

This weekend, as The Queen celebrated her Diamond Jubilee
Britons up and down the country hung out the bunting and united in celebration.

Thousands of street parties took place, filling the nation with a sense of patriotism, nostalgia and community spirit.
They were very much reminiscent of the street parties held for The Queen's coronation in 1953
The Queen's Silver Jubilee in 1977
and The Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002.
To celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, we joined in the celebrations at a street party in our local village
with the historic Coity castle as our backdrop.
It was a fun filled day of cucumber sandwiches, cream scones and tug-of-war in the castle grounds...and we even came home with a delicious Diamond Jubilee cake from the raffle!
The day was finished off watching the Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace on TV with a good old cup of tea (and a delicious piece of cake!).

Hope you enjoyed your Diamond Jubilee weekend.

Bristol Vintage Fair

A few weeks ago we had a fabulous day out at The Bristol Vintage FairThe fair was held at Circomedia (in the beautiful St Paul’s Church in Portland Square) and it really was a fantastic venue.

There was a great range of stalls selling men's and women's vintage clothes, with styles from the 1940's up to the 1980's.

We spent an hour or so browsing through the clothes rails whilst listening to songs by The Everly Brothers...it was vintage heaven!

To finish off the day in style we decided to pamper ourselves with a vintage makeover from the girls at pop up parlour
and after lots of rollers...

...false eyelashes and red lip stick...

...we were really happy with our new look...

Can't wait for next time!
