National Picnic Week

National Picnic Week runs from 17th to the 23rd June and celebrates the good old fashion picnic in all its glory. It is a great excuse to dig out a blanket, pack a basket and enjoy some al fresco fun with family and friends.

If you are planning ahead, there are lots of delicious picnic food recipes online. These are some of our favourites:

Alternatively, for an impromptu picnic you could simply pack up some crusty bread, cold meat, cheese, tomatoes, strawberries and a bottle of your favourite tipple.

Don't forget you will also need plates, cutlery, glasses and possibly a corkscrew. Disposable tableware can be convenient but we like the old fashioned approach - china clinking in a traditional wicker basket.

There is just something about a traditional picnic basket that is very nostalgic. They remind us of our childhood and long happy summers playing in the sunshine.  We recently discovered that others also share this sentiment.

This spring we introduced a range of wicker picnicware on the Love from Rosie website and after being featured in several home and lifestyle magazines, they have been flying off the shelves!

Over on the National Picnic Week website you can find a list of Britain's Top Picnic Spots along with some handy tips for enjoying a great British picnic.

So, whether you’re planning a romantic picnic for two, or a big day out for the whole family we hope you have fun.
